Arsenal Future Transfer

Arsenal reportedly interested in signing FC Basel defender Fabian Schar mainstay in the January transfer window.

Schar has made the monitoring team Arsenal impress in the last 12 months, after he became a regular player Basel and then successfully penetrate the main squad Swiss national team.



Arsenal coach himself, Arsene Wenger, wants to increase the stock of central defenders in the team for the long term and he believes Schar was the right player for that position, as reported by The Metro.

Currently, the Gunners have three center backs, with Bacary Sagna is used as an alternative short-term when Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielnya be absent so far.

Schar has helped Basel became a regular team in European competition in recent years, with the last season they reached the semi-final of the Europa League and then a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the Champions League last week.

21-year-old player was also able relied upon as a scorer, so far he has scored five goals in ten matches for club and country.
