Sore ini 25 Januari 2016 tidak sengaja melihat berita mengejutkan tentang rencana Ford Indonesia yang ingin undur diri dari persaingan ketat di bidang otomotif Indonesia.
Apa yang salah dari sekian banyak produk Ford? Sudah berjuang berdarah darah untuk bersaing dengan Merek terlaku di Indonesia? Karena after sales yang kurang? bengkel yang kurang banyak? brand image yang kurang kuat? Lagi lagi masalah klasik yang terjadi di Indonesia, Ford Indonesia harus mengikuti langkah Chevrolet yang harus menutup pabrik perakitan Chevrolet Spin yang tidak mampu bersaing dengan Merek yang sudah gagah perkasa di Indonesia.
Lalu bagaimana nasib karyawan Ford? pecinta merek Ford? ataupun pemilik mobil Ford..? Tampaknya mereka harus menghela nafas, yang tentunya sudah semakin berat. Berjuang kembali dari nol, penulis juga tidak bisa berbuat apa-apa. Dilawan seperti apa pun Merek terkuat itu juga tidak akan berpengaruh apa-apa, mau Ford jual mobil 6000 unit per bulan mereka bisa jual 20.000 unit. Kebayang kan timpangnya kekuatan merek-merek mobil yang belum establish di Indonesia.
Mau Ford dkk mengeluarkan produk tercanggih sekalipun belum tentu laku luar biasa. Karena masyarakat Indonesia yang sudah primitif banget tentang otomotif. Selalu yang ada di benak manusia Indonesia cuma pengen mobil yang nilai jual kembali tinggi setinggi awan di langit!! Cuma mau memiliki mobil yang 7 seater, biar bisa bawa kambing, sapi, dan gajah buat rekreasi, ( gak perlu ke kebon binatang kan? ). Cuma pengen mudah pelayanan after salesnya, sparepart murah, bisa didapat dimana saja, di supermarket pun bisa didapat spare part yang di cari.
Orang Indonesia Cuma kepengen dapet double blower, mesin di depan dan suspensi empuk dari mobil yang di incar.. Lah ini Ford dkk udah bikin produk yang pake sunroof, audio SYNC dkk. Mesin canggih, dilengkapi turbo, transmisi matic double clutch dan sekali lagi gak laku di Indonesia. Bule amrik juga udah patah arang kali ya.. Say goodbye to Ford Indonesia... We know, and i know you're the best!
