As the newest entry into the Kia model lineup, the 2014 Kia Cadenza has taken the world of upscale sedans by storm by outperforming many of its more established competitors. Kia's new flagship sedan has been available at Bill Jacobs Kia in Joliet, IL for a couple months, and now, the automotive world is taking notice of the standout sedan.
The most prominent example of the Cadenza's excellence is its recent triumph over the Toyota Avalon in Consumer Reports' rankings of large sedans. The Avalon, which has long stood near the top in the segment, was outdone by the 2014 Kia Cadenza's sleek styling, outstanding performance, and well-equipped interior.
Available in one, impressively equipped model, the 2014 Kia Cadenza is powered by a 3.3-liter V6 that produces 293-horsepower and 255 lb.-ft. of torque and is paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Although the standard trim includes top-of-the-line features like keyless ignition, leather upholstery, heated front seats, ventilated drivers' seat, a rearview camera, rear-park assist, and the Kia UVO infotainment interface displayed on an eight-inch color touchscreen, the upscale sedan also offers several upgrade packages for more interior amenities.
While the Cadenza has made a huge impact on the large sedan segment by outdoing the Toyota Avalon, Chrysler 300, Buick LaCrosse, and Dodge Charger, it represents something larger for Kia as the automaker continues its quest to breach the luxury market. With the recent news of a new Kia K900 luxury sedan similar to that of the Quaris sold overseas, the Cadenza soon will have a tag team partner in Kia's luxury movement.
