Mercedes Benz S Class




Mercedes-Benz has pulled the wraps off of the 2014 S-class at a media presentation in Hamburg, Germany, revealing a technological tour de force that the firm hopes will continue the plush sedan’s traditional dominance at the top of the global luxury car market.

Set to arrive in North American showrooms in September, the Mercedes-Benz flagship is charged with the task of replacing not one but two different model lines. On the one hand, it has been developed to fill the role of the previous generation S-class on sale since 2007. On the other, it has been conceived to occupy the very same territory vacated by Mercedes-Benz’s discontinued Maybach brand and its 57 and 62 sedans, which date back to 2001.

Reflecting the importance Mercedes boss Dieter Zetsche has placed on it, the new car will be available in no fewer than five different configurations: short-wheelbase sedan, long-wheelbase sedan, extra-long wheelbase sedan, coupe and cabriolet.

Stylistically, the S-class is more evolutionary than revolutionary. It shows obvious heritage in many places, but the surfacing treatment is contemporary enough to give it a modern appeal.

Continuing a trend that has seen all recent Mercedes-Benz models significantly undercut their predecessors in terms of aerodynamic efficiency, the big sedan is claimed to boast an impressively low drag coefficient of just 0.24.

Sitting proud up front is a traditional grille with added chrome, increased width and greater prominence than on any recent Mercedes model. It is just one of a number of newly interpreted design elements that helps give the S-class what Mercedes-Benz design boss Gorden Wagener describes as a “more noble visual character” than its predecessor.

Other design features of note include larger headlamps, a heavily structured front bumper, a more contoured hood complete with Mercedes-Benz’s three-pointed star emblem, less prominent wheel-arch flares and a signature dropping line along the flanks that runs from the trailing edge of the headlamps to a lower point above the rear wheel arches.

Many elements of the new S-class are developments used by its predecessor, albeit with revisions. The evolution is probably most notable in the area of electronics, where the car adopts some interesting safety features, including an illuminated belt-buckle extender and airbags within the belt straps for the rear-seat occupants. Models equipped with the optional reclining rear seat also receive an airbag within the seat cushion to prevent the occupant sliding forward in the case of an accident.

Mercedes has increased the amount of lightweight materials used in the construction of the new S-class; the entire outer skin, including the roof, is now made out of aluminum, while the internal structure uses a higher percentage of hot formed multigauge steel. Even so, the curb weight of the S500 has risen slightly, something Mercedes attributes to a more rigid body structure.

The new S-class will begin production at Mercedes-Benz’s manufacturing headquarters in Sindelfingen, Germany with four different drivelines -- traditional gasoline, gasoline electric, diesel and diesel electric. All four will come with a seven-speed automatic gearbox from the outgoing model carrying revisions that Mercedes-Benz claims provide smoother, faster and more intuitive shifts.

Included among the drivelines planned for North American sales is an upgraded version of Mercedes-Benz’s existing twin-turbocharged 4.7-liter V8 gasoline engine that produces 20 hp more than its predecessor, for 455 hp in the S500. It will be available in standard rear-wheel drive from the outset of sales in September, with an optional all-wheel drive 4Matic model planned to see U.S. sales beginning in November.




Also slated for the U.S. is the yet-to-be-revealed S63 AMG, which will go on sale alongside the S500 4Matic in November. Like its predecessor, it is powered by a twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V8 that is likely to offer a standard 544 hp, or 571 hp in combination with an optional performance package. Unlike the outgoing rear-wheel-drive S63 AMG, though, the new model will be sold exclusively in North America with Mercedes-Benz’s four-wheel drive 4Matic system, creating the S63 AMG 4Matic.

Other markets will receive the S400 hybrid, which uses an optimized 3.5-liter V6 gasoline unit in combination with an electric motor. Other drivelines include a carryover 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine in the S350 Bluetec and a 2.1-liter four-cylinder diesel working with an electric motor in the S300 Bluetec hybrid. In 2014, Mercedes-Benz will introduce the S600. It will receive a revised version of the outgoing model’s twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V12.

Also planned for launch within the next year or so is a new S500 plug-in hybrid model, which Thomas Weber, head of research and development, says achieves combined fuel consumption on the European test cycle of more than 58.8 mpg.




Heading the long list of technological advances incorporated on the new S-class is Mercedes-Benz’s so-called Magic Body Control (MBC) system. Available as an option, it uses cameras mounted within the windscreen to scan the road and detect surface irregularities before automatically adjusting the damping characteristics to reduce body movements, better control roll and pitch and generally improve overall ride comfort.

An astonishing experience: the wiper blade glides over the badly soiled windscreen of the new SL, without a sign of a cleaning water jet, the occupants do not notice anything yet the windscreen is still cleaned! The new SL is the first vehicle to be equipped with the adaptive MAGIC VISION CONTROL wiper/washer system developed by Mercedes-Benz. It cleans the windscreen without the splash of water that usually briefly disrupts the driver’s field of view in the case of conventional windscreen washing systems – something that is especially unpleasant at night or when the sun is low in the sky and at high speeds.

In fact, the windscreen cleaning operation in the SL is still performed with washer fluid in the conventional manner. The innovation lies in the way the fluid is conducted to the windscreen in order to clean it. This is done by means of water guides integrated on both sides along the wiper blade – one on the left and one on the right – with minute laser-cut spraying holes. Via these channels, the innovative washer/wiper system always supplies washing fluid to the windscreen discreetly, precisely where it is needed: just in front of the wiper blade lip, according to the direction of movement of the wiper. The holes are distributed along the entire length of the wiper blade, being more closely spaced towards the outside of the blade, where it sweeps a greater area, than closer in, where the area swept is smaller.

Mercedes-Benz controls the MAGIC VISION CONTROL system intelligently via three partly autonomous wash programs – for summer, for winter and for cabriolet driving. It is the first windscreen wipe/wash system anywhere in the world to operate in this way. In summer, small quantities of water are sufficient to remove a light powdering of dust. In winter the dirt mixed with de-icing salt requires a greater amount of water. The MAGIC VISION CONTROL system works in accordance with the outside temperature, and it also automatically adapts the washer fluid quantity to the surrounding conditions.



A particularly interesting feature of the SL Roadster is the Cabriolet function: when the hardtop is down, the electronic control system reduces the amount of water, apart from which it demands the required water mainly on the downward stroke of the wiper arm. This way the windscreen can be conveniently cleaned during the journey and with an open roof, without any of the water spraying into the vehicle interior.

Another pleasant side effect is that, since the washer fluid is directed specifically and in a well-metered manner to the area to be cleaned, one doesn’t douse anyone else in the surroundings with water, either, and it also doesn’t distribute any spray onto the vehicles behind. At the end of the day, a better cleaning effect is attained with up to half the amount of washer fluid. It has therefore been possible to reduce the volume of the washer fluid reservoir by 1.7 litres compared with the preceding model. This in turn contributes to a reduction in weight and consequently to greater efficiency.
Winter-proof thanks to the heated system

On request the MAGIC VISION CONTROL wiper blades are completely heated on the new SL, making Mercedes-Benz the first manufacturer in the world to offer a fully heated wiper/washer system. It consists of a washer fluid container heated through coolant waste heat, electric heating for the entire hose system and, as a newly-developed highlight, a fully heated wiper blade. This effectively prevents the formation of snow on the wiper blades, so typical in winter. To do this each of the spring rails of the blade is equipped with a heater foil with an output of 35 watts per blade. It heats the spoiler and the wipe lip. Snow and ice cannot freeze onto the blade; it remains supple in winter, too, and always cleans well.

The heating is also controlled as required according to the duration of operation and the outside temperature. It is only below a temperature of minus 20 degrees Celsius that the system makes use of the entire system’s maximum output, 270 watts. Between 5 degrees above and 20 degrees below zero the heating operates in an energy-saving mode and only requires the output needed to thaw out the wiper/washer system and keep it free of snow and ice.

Mitsubishi eK Space



On Tokyo Motor Show 2013 Mitsubishi has launch a very similar Kei car model like Suzuki Spacia Custom, Daihatsu Tanto Custom or Suzuki Solio Bandit. The Japanese automaker has presented two Kei cars in the super height wagon category – Mitsubishi eK Space and eK Custom. Both these models build on the success of the eK Wagon which was introduced earlier this year in Japan.

The Mitsubishi eK Space has been designed jointly in partnership with Nissan. The eK Space sports a box-like design and claims to offer ‘enjoyable, spacious and satisfying’ driving experience. It was officially revealed today in two flavors, base and custom.



The eK Space features a sliding rear door, UV-reducing glass and touch panel-operated air conditioning. Higher-end variants can be availed with touchscreen infotainment system with GPS navigation.





To many similar model mini MPV on market has been produce Japanese auto maker. On the engine front, the eK Space is powered by three-cylinder engines with outputs of 49 hp and 64 hp.

The Mitsubishi eK Custom is a slightly sportier looking variant of the eK Space. It features full body skirts, alloy wheels, a white lens for the taillamp cluster, a new front bumper and a shiny chrome grille with horizontal slats.

On the inside, the eK Custom features black interior color scheme that accents its sporty and premium refined character. Additionally, the eK Custom will also be available with Active Stability Control (ASC), which helps prevent wheel slip.

Suzuki Wagon R In Many Version


Pertama kali lihat video ini di Youtube cuma bisa ngilerr...bener-bener ngiler! Suzuki Wagon R 20th Anniversary Edition. Kabarnya pemerintah Jepang memberi insentif untuk harga jual mobil Kei-Car, dan Suzuki Wagon R ini masuk dalam skema pajak Kei-Car yang cukup "terjangkau" bila di bandingkan dengan mobil berkapasitas mesin diatas 1500 cc.

Sedikit pengertian Kei-Car yang saya ketahui ialah mencakup keringanan pajak untuk mobil-mobil yang irit bahan bakar, emisi gas buang yang rendah, kapasitas mesin yang kecil. Karena di Jepang juga memberlakukan tarif parkir yang selangit, dengan Kei-Car bisa dengan mudah / tidak memakan tempat parkir yang terlalu luas.

Balik lagi menikmati, hanya bisa menikmati video yang diambil langsung oleh orang Jepang tentunya. Cukup kecewa ketika Suzuki Indonesia menjual Karimun Wagon R di Indonesia dengan banyaknya fitur-fitur yang "dipereteli" demi menekan harga jual. Padahal di India masih terpasang fitur-fitur yang lumayan modern bila dibandingkan dengan Wagon R versi Indonesia. Seperti In-dash CD Player, dashboard berwarna krem, wiper belakang dan kontrol panel A/C yang lebih lengkap dari Wagon R versi Indonesia.

Pertanyaannya apakah Suzuki Indonesia hanya menjual mobil yang "biasa-biasa" saja atau menurut saya terlalu banyak fitur-fitur yang di kurangi demi menekan harga jual. Padahal Wagon R termasuk mobil yang sukses angka penjualannya di Jepang maupun di India TANPA adanya pengurangan fitur-fitur berkendara.

Di Jepang Suzuki Wagon R termasuk kendaraan kecil yang dilengkapi fitur-fitur mobil yang berharga lebih mahal, seperti ABS, Auto A/C, Airbag dll. Stingray adalah model Wagon R paling mewah yang pernah diproduksi oleh Suzuki.

Kekurangan mobil ini menurut saya yaitu kurang lebar dan kaca depan kurang rebah ( landai ). Tapi itu tergantung selera masing-masing orang. Lebih dan kurangnya dari mobil ini tetap I'm in LOVE with Wagon R STINGRAY.

The Best MPV Peugeot 5008 And KIA Carens








Peugeot 5008 dan KIA Carens adalah MPV terbaik menurut pendapat saya, tetapi produk bagus belum tentu sukses merebut hati konsumen Indonesia. Peugeot 5008 di rentang harga Rp.450 jutaan dan KIA Carens di rentang harga Rp.250 jutaan. Seberapa banyak anda bisa melihat Peugeot 5008 di jalanan ibu kota? mungkin bisa dihitung dengan jari. Begitu juga dengan KIA Carens generasi ke-3 yang bernasib sama dengan Pug 5008, jarang terlihat di jalanan Jakarta.








Kurang bersaingkah harga jualnya dengan kompetitor? Alias kemahalan bagi orang Indonesia. Kurang banyakkah bengkel yang tersebar di Indonesia sehingga ada "ketakutan" orang Indonesia untuk membeli kedua produk ini. Ketersediaan suku cadang kah yang menjadi pertimbangan untuk membeli mobil ini? Yang lebih populer disebut After Sales Service. Harga jual kembali yang masih jadi panutan orang Indonesia untuk membeli sebuah mobil dengan merek yang kurang "populer" di benak orang Indonesia.







Kedua mobil ini tidak usah dipertanyakan lagi fitur-fitur dan teknologi yang di sandang oleh Pug dan KIA. Yang pertama keluaran dari Eropa dan yang kedua dari Korea, belum mampu menyihir orang Indonesia. Fitur keselamatan berkendara sudah jadi jaminan bagi kendaraan Eropa dan Korea masa kini, tetapi kembali lagi orang Indonesia yang belum "concern" untuk semua teknologi dan fitur keselamatan terkini.

Banyak dari first entry buyer di Indonesia lebih memikirkan teknologi yang "biasa-biasa" saja untuk dimiliki sebuah mobil, mereka hanya butuh mobil yang dilengkapi dengan A/C, audio minimalis, 7 seater, hemat bahan bakar, mesin yang tahan banting dan suspensi yang empuk itu sudah cukup buat orang Indonesia.
